VP, Data Platform/Technologies is a core part of Technology leadership for the company and will report to Group Chief Technology and Product Officer. In this role, you will be responsible for managing overall enterprise data warehouse and reporting infrastructure across all group companies and work closely with software engineering and business organizations. You will be responsible for ensuring fast and timely availability of all data needed for company’s business monitoring, analytics, intelligence and reporting needs; as well as identify actionable insights for business. You will manage a team of highly talented data engineers, business/data analysts and data scientists and will be setting best practices for other business/data analysts and data scientists in the company.

 

Key Responsiblities:

  • Understand company’s current and future business; develop data and analytics strategy and drive execution to stay ahead of business, in partnership with engineering and business
  • Build a top notch Data Platform and Analytics organisation by hiring the highly talented data engineers, busienss/data analysts, data scientists and setting them for success
  • Identifies and assesses potential data sources; build and own authorative source of all data needed for company’s reporting, intelliigence and analytics needs accordingly to data currency and retention needs
  • Build Business Intelligence and reporting solutions for business partners using the latest BI technologies and cloud solutions. Also, provide a self-service business intelligence and reporting platform to all businesses to become self-sufficient
  • Apply industry standard methodologies and new technologies to enhance productivity, quality and system performance; continuously participate in learning/training opportunities regarding BI technology trends and data analytics innovations

 

Key Skills:

  • 10+ years of Data/Analytics and/or software engineering experience; at-least 3 years leading Data and Analytics function in a $1B+ B2C or B2B data driven organisation
  • Hands on experience with many of: ETL, Data Modelling, SQL, relational and non-relational databases, Hadoop and other Big Data technologies, cloud based data solutions like RedShift, Cloudera etc., reporting platforms like Tableau, Silk or MicroStrategy and data sciences
  • Experience managing multiple technology teams including experience managing other managers
  • Superior and practical understanding of accepted business intelligence, data integration and data warehouse principles, ability to create/improve process while keeping the fast pace of delivery in an environment where minimal existing processed exist
  • Capable of handling multiple simultaneous projects and meet deadlines, have an ability to work in a group setting as well as in an independent position with a detail-oriented attitude, be highly analytical by nature, be highly organized being able to effectively prioritize tasks, have exceptionally good problem solving skills, have an ability to work in a highly collaborative and fast-evolving environment, be highly adaptive and welcoming to change and passionate to learn new technologies
  • Exceptional leadership skills and be a people person with an ability to develop strong, meaningful, and lasting relationships with others. He/ she will be a likable, approachable, and relatable person who inspires trust in others who will then readily follow in his directives and trust in his insights
  • Education: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics or other relevant field; can be waived if you have moved mountains in past like co-founding a Unicorn
