What will you do at OYO? 

 

The successful candidate will be part of the legal team, and will report to the Legal Director.

 

Key responsibilities will include:

 

  • Providing legal advice on day-to-day legal issues affecting OYO, and assisting with transaction management;

 

  • Negotiating, drafting and reviewing third party commercial contracts and developing standard form contracts and precedents;

 

  • Supporting the commercial team with the negotiation of new franchise deals, preparing term sheets, drafting, negotiating and amending commercial agreements and assisting with the management of the partner hotel network (including enforcement of existing franchise agreements);

 

  • Overseeing the management of OYO’s contract database (with paralegal support); and

 

  • Assisting with the establishment and delivery of employee training on legal compliance issues.




What you will bring to OYO?

 

  • An experienced commercial lawyer with a minimum of 5 years PQE gained within a reputable multi-site hotel, restaurant or retail company or a full-service commercial law firm.  A minimum of 1 year’s in-house experience is essential;

 

  • Strong academic background with a law degree or equivalent post-graduate diploma in law;

 

  • Experience with a wide range of contracts (including supply, purchase, agency, tour operator, booking and OTA agreements) and intellectual property rights, with a good understanding of IT service agreements (both software and hardware), consumer/competition law, e-commerce and sales & marketing agreements;

 

  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong organisational skills with an enthusiastic and proactive approach to their work.  An ability to work at pace is essential;

 

  • Strong commercial awareness and an ability to resolve complex legal issues in their commercial context; and

 

  • A plain-language approach to legal advice when dealing with stakeholders from across the business.
